Advertisement Intercourse Library posted about the closure of its branch, The Gap Branch Library, also known as the Salisbury Township Library, on Saturday on Facebook. It credited the closure to the recent rejection of the tax referendum. The branch was opened in 2004 at 835 Houston Run Drive in Gap and maintained a collection of over 15,000 items, according to Intercourse Library. The library said that without sufficient funding, it can no longer sustain the two locations. "We remain grateful to our generous donors and to each of the three townships for their annual contributions. Their support will matter more than ever as we scale back and consolidate our operations at the main library in Intercourse," said the library on Facebook. It also encouraged residents to visit their local libraries, ask questions and participate in programs, arguing that libraries are not obsolete and are constantly growing and evolving to help serve their communities.
